The adorable grand kids (Summer '08)

ALL Smiles

Grandparents. . . written by a class of 8 year olds

Grandparents don't have to do anything except be there when we come to see them. They are so old they shouldn't play hard or run. It is good if they drive us to the shops and give us money.

Usually grandmothers are fat but not too fat to tie your shoes.

They show us and talk to us about the colors of the flowers and also why we shouldn't step on 'cracks.'

They don't say, 'Hurry up.'

A grandfather is a man & a grandmother is a lady!

Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you don't have television because they are the only grownups who like to spend time with us.

Don't be afraid to take a chance

"The important thing is not being afraid to take a chance. Remember, the greatest failure is to not try. Once you find something you love to do, be the best at doing it."

Big Black

I am a big fan of the MTV show "Rob and Big". My bug wears Big Black's symbol with pride

Words to ponder. . . .

"There is absolutely nothing that separates the elite from the paupers except their expectations. If you wish to rise above the masses, then let the fire burn fiercely within you. Do this, and it shall be done!."

Something to ponder . . .

"One of the lessons I've learned is that the quality of the answers that we get in life is truly determined by the quality of the questions we ask."

When life hands you lemons. . .

Inside me lives a skinny woman crying to get out. But I can usually shut her up with cookies..

Introducing. . . Gilbert

We are nutzzzzzzzzzzz

This was taken when the weather was warm and Gilbert could sleep on the deck. Once the snow fell, Gilbert was moved into the laundry room bathroom. We love Gilbert that much.

So Gilbert will be warm and snuggly

In Memory of President Hinckley

The Hinckley Challenge

President Hinckley often stressed our making the Book of Mormon part of our lives. He was 97 when he passed away, and we would like to celebrate his life and teachings by reading the Book of Mormon in 97 days.

I took on the challenge and I will finish it in 97 days. May 10, 2008. I can't begin to describe how wonderful this experience has been.

President Hinckley's Promise

Without reservation I promise you that if each of you will observe this simple program, regardless of how many times you previously may have read the Book of Mormon. . .
1. There will come into your lives and into your homes an added measure of the Spirit of the Lord.
2. A strengthened resolution to walk in obedience to His commandments.
3. A stronger testimony of the living reality of the Son of God.
